Works completed and bridge reopened in Larkhall
Published: Monday 22 September 2025
A bridge in Larkhall has now reopened following extensive improvement works.
Essential concrete and steel repairs to the bridge deck and sub-structure were carried out at Millheugh Bridge.
All steel elements of the bridge were fully painted, carriageway resurfacing work carried out and there was renewal of the expansion joints.
Chair of the council’s Community and Enterprise Resources Committee, Councillor Robert Brown, said: “The re-opening of the bridge restores a much needed and well used route for the local community.
“We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding during these essential works, which will help ensure the long-term safety and durability of the bridge.”
